Who we are.

Free to Read Rochester is a group of parents, grandparents, students, alumni, educators, and community members based in the Rochester Community Schools district. We joined together in response to book and curriculum challenges in our district. We advocate for policies that are inclusive and protective of students’ intellectual freedom and right to accurate and unabridged curriculum. Free to Read Rochester believes that access to books that explore and celebrate diverse experiences and identities is essential for creating a more empathetic and just world.

Free to Read Rochester is a 501(c)4 nonprofit—your generous donations are not tax deductible, but they are greatly appreciated!
